Intake Worker: Interview clients seeking counseling. Obtain information from clients about their current situation as well as relevant history (including mental health, substance abuse, domestic violence, etc.). Provide crisis intervention as needed. Work with a supervisor to arrange The Free Clinic services and/or referrals as needed. (Afternoons and/or evenings, 1-year commitment, license/special degree required.)
Mental Health Counselor: Must be a psychologist, social worker, professional counselor, marital and family therapist or psychiatric nurse. Minimum caseload is 3 clients. Provide therapy for individuals, families and/or groups on a variety of concerns. Supervision provided. (Afternoons and/or evenings, 1-year commitment; license/special degree required.)
Clinical Supervisor: Supervise mental health counselors and students. (Afternoons and/or evenings, 1-year commitment; license/special degree required.)
Student Intern: Provide direct counseling services to clients assigned by The Free Clinic. Must be a student training at the Masters or Doctoral level in social work, counseling, psychology, marital and family therapy or psychiatric nursing in an accredited program. (Afternoons and/or evenings, 1-year commitment to ensure continuity, extensive training provided and required; Masters level mental health program required.)
Psychiatrist: Evaluate clients and prescribe and monitor medication. (Afternoons and/or evenings, 1-year commitment, 1x/month for 2-3 hour session; license/special degree required.)
Psychiatry Resident: Evaluate clients and prescribe and monitor medication. Must be in an accredited training program. (Afternoons and/or evenings, 1-year commitment, 1x/month for 2-3 hour session)
Psychiatric Supervisor: Supervise psychiatry residents. (Afternoons and/or evenings, 1-year commitment, 1x/month for 2-3 hour session; license/special degree required.)
