Substance Abuse Treatment

SAT Counselor: Must be a psychologist, Masters level (or above) therapist, social worker or nurse/clinician, with experience and/or training in group and individual substance abuse counseling. Proof of Certified Chemical Dependency Counselor required. Minimum caseload is 2 clients. Counsel individuals, families and groups on a variety of concerns. Supervision provided. (Afternoons and/or evenings, 1-year commitment; license/special degree required.)

SAT Case Manager: Utilize your skills/expertise to assist our clients with their special needs. Must be professionally trained in the field of Substance Abuse Treatment with experience in-group and individual counseling with substance abuse clients. Proof of Certified Chemical Dependency Counselor required. (Afternoons and/or evenings, 1-year commitment; license/special degree required.)

SAT Student Intern: Must be a registered candidate studying in the field of chemical dependency with course work in counseling, psychology, or social work. Learn charting documentation procedures and the Mental Health and SAT intake process; facilitate group and individual counseling; provide referral and case management services as necessary. (Afternoons and/or evenings, schedule and hours are negotiable, 2-3 hours per week minimum, 1-year commitment to ensure continuity; license/special degree required, training provided and required.)

SAT Intake Worker: Interview clients seeking counseling. Obtain information from clients about their current situation as well as relevant history (including mental health, substance abuse, domestic violence, etc.). Provide crisis intervention, as needed. Work with a supervisor to arrange The Free Clinic services and/or referrals, as needed. (Evenings, 1-year commitment; no experience necessary, on-the-job training.)
