Volunteers needed
Volunteering is a two-way street: you give and you gain. Each year, more than 500 outstanding volunteers help us provide critical services to the community while enjoying the opportunity to grow personally and professionally, as well. They work alongside seasoned professionals in the fields of medicine, dentistry, and behavioral health. They serve individuals who are battling an economic downturn - both urban and suburban - and challenged with prioritizing their health care along with paying for housing, utilities, and food for their families. Volunteers come here to lend a hand to a community in need, to learn new skills, and to apply training acquired in the classroom and through years of professional work. Are you ready to make a commitment to our dynamic corps of volunteers?
To get started, download The Free Clinic's Volunteer Application Packet (in interactive PDF format). Print your completed application and deliver it to The Free Clinic or mail it to the attention of the Volunteer Office. Emailed applications will not be accepted.
Two Reference Check Forms (accompanying your application in sealed and signed envelopes, for confidentiality) are required of all applicants. References should be professional in nature and should attest to an individual's maturity, leadership capacity, interpersonal skills, and abiltity to work comfortably in diverse settings. Licensed professionals must also attached a photo copy of any professional certifications or licensure.
NOTE: The interactive volunteer application requires Adobe’s Acrobat® Reader® software (version 5.0 minimum required), available FREE from the Adobe download site.
The following is a list of volunteer job descriptions by program area.
