Project DAWN (Deaths Avoided with Naloxone)
Project DAWN is a community-based overdose prevention and education project. This collaboration with MetroHealth enables opioid users to visit The Free Clinic on a walk-in basis to pick up naloxone kits and receive instruction on how to recognize and respond to an overdose and how to administer intranasal naloxone to reverse an opioid overdose. Opioids include both heroin and prescription pain medications, such as hydrocodone (Lorcet and Vicodin), oxycodone (Percocet), long acting opioids (Oxycontin, MS Contin and Methodone), and patches (Fentanyl), among others.
- No appointment necessary. Walk-ins welcome on Fridays from 1:00 - 5:00pm.
